I have a VB3-II license, can I use it to activate the Rotary plugin?
When the first version of VB3-II was released in June 2018, VB3-II came bundled with a free plugin called GSiRotary, which contained the same rotary effect as VB3-II, allowing the effect to be used independently of VB3-II. This plugin did not require a second license key because it was based on the VB3-II license key, so both plugins needed to be installed and VB3-II needed to be licensed with a valid license. Another limitation was that the Rotary effect did not have its own Program management, but used the same Programs as VB3-II.
When we released the second version of VB3-II in 2023, the GSiRotary plugin was abandoned in favor of a more versatile system that allows you to take advantage of the entire VB3-II effects chain (including the Ring Modulator, Delay, Spring Reverb, Compressor, Equalizer, and Digital Reverb). This plugin, called VB3-II Remote Input, also allows you to generate and send MIDI messages to VB3-II to control the upper manual drawbars with a system we call VoMidiCoder.
In 2025, we decided to release a new version of GSiRotary, available to all users and completely independent of VB3-II. This new version includes all the parameters of the Rotary effect, plus overdrive and reverb, has its own internal Program management, but requires a separate license, albeit at a negligible cost.
So, if you own a VB3-II license and want to use the GSiRotary plugin, you should purchase the separate license if you want to use the latest version of the plugin, otherwise you need to use the 2018 version.
